I hope they also take note

I hope they also take note from Italian cities like Lucca and Ferrara, where the cities have done major renovation projects with the elevated city walls and enabled pedestrian/bicycle in order to create access to a series of parks both within and without of the city center (http://anothercappuccinoplease.blogspot.com/2011/02/le-mura.html). These projects have not over-designed the systems or taken away from the preservation of the historical value of the Walls themselves. I worry that the Bloomingdale will lose the sense of discovery you feel when you climb up there and explore in sacrifice to an efficient bicycle commute.

I hope they retain the openness of this trail. It's one of the best places for runners to run it total peace (though you have to watch the rough terrain). I feel that the co-mingling of cyclists, pedestrians, and runners gets to be too much (case in point: the Lakefont path). I wonder how an urban designer or architect would handle all these different programming demands gracefully.
