Trees as a Legacy in Design & Development
On June 28, join keynote speaker Peter Walker, FASLA, senior partner of PWP Landscape Architecture and co-designer of the National September 11 Memorial, along with professionally diverse, nationally recognized experts from 9 am - 4:40 pm, for a symposium on legacy trees at the Alsdorf Auditorium.
This symposium will explore trees as engines of economic development with research social scientist Kathleen Wolf, Ph.D., how pests affect the sustainability of the urban forest with entomologist Michael Raupp, Ph.D., legacy trees in historic Chicago parks with preservationist Julia Bachrach, and the challenges of urban soils with tree researcher Kelby Fite, Ph.D.
